Anxiety

Infertility & Miscarriage


Are you finding it difficult to conceive or have you recently miscarried? Although most people will experience a miscarriage at some point in their life, often times it happens so early in the pregnancy that it goes undetected. Infertility on the other hand, is defined as the inability to conceive after one year of unprotected intercourse. 

Although infertility and miscarriage are two different experiences and cause different p
hysical effects, they both often lead to feelings of loss and disappointment. Both circumstances are a great loss and are often hard for others to understand if they themselves have not been through it. Research shows that mourning from a miscarriage can sometimes last for years. Everyone handles grief and loss differently. For some, the inability to carry a baby to term can cause daily turmoil and sadness as the thoughts of being unable to have a baby preoccupy their mind. Over time, some might be able to accept their inability to have a baby but seeing others pregnant can trigger strong emotions and evoke symptoms of depression and grief & loss.
